You want something good for your spirit? All you need is a 15-minute walk in this gorgeous sunshine to brighten up your day, literally and figuratively. Firstly, you’ll get a good dose of vitamin D that way, a vitamin your body needs and cannot produce itself. Just like light therapy will chase away winter blues, a daily dose of sunshine will lift your spirits and energize you. Finally, walk mindfully, meaning your full awareness is on your surroundings. You are sure to discover pleasure in the little things in life and see something you’ve never noticed before.
For more information on vitamin D and sunshine, check out this article.

Do you have trouble digesting raw nuts and seeds? Lots of people do, but you don’t have to cook the nutrition out of them to make the more digestable. Soak them overnight, rinse them well and enjoy! They will not only be easier to digest, but b/c you have pre-sprouted them, they are now living and the nutrition is more available to you.

I whipped this up yesterday and ate it with baby carrots and cucumbers. If you like fresh basil, try this!
Ingredients
~ 1 15-oz. can white beans (I used Great Northern)
~ 1 clove garlic, minced and slightly cooked in a bit of extra virgin olive oil
~ handful fresh basil leaves
~ 1-2 TB balsamic vinegar
~ 1-2 TB extra virgin olive oil
~ freshly ground black pepper to taste
Put all ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth. Adjust balsamic vinegar for taste and olive oil for texture. You may substitute about 1/4 tsp. granulated garlic for the fresh.

Yuzu essential oil ~ when I smell this, I feel like Pavlov’s dog — I immediately begin to salivate, it is so yummy! Yuzu is an Asian citrus fruit whose peel is either cold pressed or steam distilled to make the essential oil. I wish I could liken it to another familiar fruit for you, but it is truly unique. Maybe a really, really strong smelling grapefruit, with a little sour splashed in; that may begin to describe it. But until you experience it, it is very hard to imagine its mouth-watering, uplifting scent.
We use yuzu essential oil in our Ananda Spa Perfume. Try some!

I know this seems the universal advice lately on how to relax, destress and unwind. Well, it works, but that isn’t what I want to write about today. Many of you know that one of my favorite things to do is hike with my dog Guinness. I am loving it even more than usual lately b/c there is a beautiful tree blooming that smells so fantastic! It is a smallish tree with clusters of white blossoms, and it is a sight to behold, for sure, but it isn’t the visual beauty that will first attract your attention to it. I remember the first time a whiff of the glorious scent wafted toward my nostrils, THAT is what made me look around for the source of the olfactory beauty. So get out this weekend in search of this heaven-scented mystery tree, and if any of you know what it is, be sure to post a comment!

~ BODY POWDER
I will always have Soothing Powder for baby in stock, as that is our best-selling powder and I’ll be using lots of it soon, too! But the other body powders will now be limited editions. I have some Ethereal and some Mystic Patchouli on clearance now, for 7.50 each.
~ SKIN BALM
Again, body butters are really what my customers prefer, so this product just doesn’t make sense right now. I have one jar of Amethyst Skin Balm left, on clearance for 10.00.

I have been trying to get some variety in my snacking, since I have overloaded on fruit during my first trimester. Here are some ideas I have been trying and enjoying this week:
- baby carrots with hummus
- celery sticks with raw almond butter and dried currants (I guess my version of ants on a log)
- raw hazelnuts — I needed some variety in my nuts and both Guinness and I have been enjoying these!
